The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit research interests are focused on sepsis, trauma, respiratory distress and other stress situations. In particular research projects are dealing with nutrition and immune-nutrition in critically ill children, with energy expenditure measurements and relation to multiple organ failure and inflammatory process, and with the role of heat shock proteins in shock and stress situations.
Stress
projects on R1a and Ca KO mice – Behavioral response – PKA activity in various
brain areas – cFOS – CRH – cAMP studies
